Nautilus Pompilius Alisa "Internet payment systems" SilencePro company site "Zabriski Rider" electronic version "Da-Da-Net" festival is a logical continuation of SCCA project "New Media Art Laboratory". Its aim is to find out creative possibilities of Internet Russian sector. Internet here is considered as new space for artistic expression. It includes not only new technology of creating art pieces, but also new conditions of its functioning in society - mechanisms of interaction of public, demonstrations, museums.
At present moment the notion of art-project in Russia is not generally accepted. However, there exist examples of new approach towards surfing Internet as artistic space: WWW ArtCenter is an example of cooperation of several authors, surfing only in Internet: Coronado gallery - is an example of Russian , Ukrainian and Moldovian videoart electronic archive (http://uchcom.botik.ru/~gilles/coronado/) Impetuous growth of Russian non-commercial resources, including those made by private persons, testifies that such Internet characteristics as free access to means of publications and information, wide auditorrium, relative simplicity and low price for this technology attract Russian users.
One of the main the tasks of the festival is to get acquainted with western resources, related to contemporary art as artistic project, made for Internet The aim of the festival is to find out among Russian-speaker users , those who are interested in contemporary art and to enable them to place their works in theme context; to take part in discussions, related to electronic society culture. We have chosen Da-Da-Net (from DADAISM) just to stress that net art appears to be innovating one rubbing out borders between art and life, popularizing freedom for opinions and views in informational space.
Russian Internet art-association only starts its work nowadays. The notion of Art-project in Net is only formulating now. That is why we invite to participate not only professional artists, but all those who wish.!!!
